2. STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION
A. INSIDE MOUNT INSTALLATION
Inside Mount Installation Prep: Before marking your bracket locations, it is crucial to confirm that your placement will not interfere with any internal headrail components or your window’s structure. Ensure you review the minimum required depth for your specific product and consult the detailed instructions below.
- Step 1: Mark bracket location on the Head Jamb
- Step 2: Drill pilot holes in desired location for your brackets
- Step 3: Install the brackets using the included hardware
- Step 4: Mount the shade in place, ensuring you hear the click of the bracket locking in place.
B. OUTSIDE MOUNT INSTALLATION
Outside Mount Installation Prep: For secure mounting, your brackets must be completely flush against a flat surface. Do not attempt to mount the brackets on curved or contoured molding, as this will compromise the installation’s stability and alignment.
- Step 1: Mark bracket location on your wall or molding as desired.
- Step 2: Drill pilot holes in desired location for your brackets
- Step 3: Install the brackets using the included hardware
- Step 4: Mount the shade in place, ensuring you hear the click of the bracket locking in place.
3. Post-Installation & Trouble Shooting
Shade Valance is Loose or Wobbly
Problem: The entire shade feels unstable or shifts when being operated.
Solution: Check that the headrail is fully seated and securely “clicked” into every single bracket. For ceiling or wall mounts, ensure the bracket screws have been drilled firmly into a stud or are anchored with the appropriate heavy-duty wall plugs for maximum stability.
The Shade Does Not Lower or Lift Evenly
Problem: The shade fabric is rubbing against the sides of the headrail or bunching up on one side as it operates.
Action: This usually indicates that the installation brackets are slightly misaligned. Fully raise the shade, loosen the bracket screws on the side where the shade is rubbing, gently shift the headrail until the fabric hangs evenly, and then firmly retighten the screws.
Bottom Bar is Tilted or Uneven
Problem: The shade’s bottom rail is noticeably higher on one side than the other when fully lowered, making the shade look crooked.
Action: This is usually a sign that the headrail itself is not level. Use a carpenter’s level on top of the headrail and adjust the bracket position on the higher side. Loosen the bracket screw slightly and raise or lower that side until the headrail is perfectly level, then firmly retighten the screws.
Motorized Shade Stops Responding to Remote
Problem: The remote control is functional, but the motorized shade does not move when a button is pressed.
Solution: First, confirm the motor battery is fully charged or properly inserted. If the battery is fine, the motor may need to be reset and re-paired with the remote. Follow the initial pairing instructions in your motorization guide to ensure the motor is correctly linked to the remote channel.
